Some street

el año pasado trajo consigo muchos retos, simplemente porque la vida es así. los retos son importantes, pero cuando tocan esa área de tu vida en la crees que puedes ser "buena" y te demuestran lo contrario, te frustras. eso me pasó con las fotos, pero al final del túnel me di cuenta que valió la pena, aprendí mucho. 

el ciclo pasado en la universidad, tuve el privilegio (porque SI fue una gran privilegio) de llevar un curso de fotografía con Jaime Rázuri . sabía quién era y sabía de su trabajo, pero definitivamente su clase excedió mis expectativas. si, fue súper difícil porque la experiencia lo obligó a ser muy exigente con aquello que podríamos llamar una "buena foto". me frustré mucho pero mientras más observaba atentamente alrededor, mejor entendía lo que me quería enseñar. 

mi proyecto final tenía que ser algo que me gustara, y aunque me gustan los retratos, decidí salir de ese ambiente de comodidad y escogí como tema una casa. pero no una cualquiera, sino una en una calle x (porque llego por inercia), en la que cada cuarto y detalle arquitectónico lleva consigo recuerdos, historias y detalles que el tiempo no ha sido capaz de llevarse.

last year brought many challenges, just because thats the way life is. challenges are important, but when they touch that aspect of your life in which you think you are "good enough" and proof you wrong, you get frustrated. that happened to me with pictures, but at the end of the tunnel i realized that all of this was worth it, i learned a lot. 

last semester at school, i had the privilege (cause it was A REAL privilege) of taking a photography class with Jaime Rázuri. i knew who he was and what kind of work he was into, but his class absolutely exceeded my expectations. yes, it was super hard because his experience forced him to be harsh and difficult at the moment of qualifying a picture  as "a good one". i got very frustrated but as i observed more what was around me, the more and the better i understood what he was intending to teach me. 

my final project had to be about something i really like, and although portraits are my thing, i chose to get out of my comfort zone and take a house as my subject. but it wasn't just any house, it was one located at some street (cause i just know how to get there by heart), in which every room and architectonic detail brought along memories, stories and details that would never change in despite of the time.
