Part 3: Selva/Jungle 101
-6am. empieza la aventura-
Llegamos al campamento de FAIENAP, y nos esperaba un típico desayuno y unas cómodas casitas para descansar por una hora.
Luego nos alistamos y juntamos medicinas, galletas y otras cosas para las visitas del día. Primera parada ; la Mision Suiza.
Segunda parada; comunidad Mastanawas. Llegamos a esta comunidad en medio de un relleno sanitario. El fuerte olor a basura nos dio una pista de las condiciones en las que vivían estas personas.
Llegamos a la casa del jefe de la comunidad y fue muy agradable el cariñoso recibimiento. Sin embargo, ver una realidad tan diferente a la nuestra fue muy chocante. Pero ahí estábamos, listos con un doctor y una enfermera para atender siquiera algunas de sus algunas de sus necesidades como curar la pierna del jefe que no hace muchos días se había herido con su herramienta de trabajo.
Los niños sonreían, algunos te hablaban en español y otros solo entendían pero no podían hablar más que su lengua nativa. Pero qué maravilloso es nuestro Dios, que permite que la iglesia local tenga contacto con esta comunidad para llevarles comida, amor y la palabra de Dios.
Mientras capturaba estas memorias con mi lente, una de las niñas se me acercaba para jugar y reirnos un rato. ¡Fue muy tierna! Su nombre es Luz, su papa es el jefe de la comunidad y le gustan los caramelos
Luego de que los niños eran atendidos pasaron a jugar un rato, a recibir unos regalos y a escuchar algunas historias de la Biblia.
Then we got ready and put together medicines, cookies, and other stuff to take with us to our visits. First stop: Mision Suiza (Mission of Switzerland)
We got to the chief's house and it was very nice to see how they welcome us with such warmth attitude. However, to see a reality so different to ours was shocking. But there we were with a doctor and a nurse ready to attend some of their needs like helping to take care of the chief's leg, which got hurt with his working tool a few days before. (see pictures above Foto 8 and 9)
After the kids visited the doctor, we gathered them to play, receive some gifts and listen to a few Bible stories. (see pictures above Foto 11 y 12)
The end of the day was getting close and with it we delire the last gifts. We took non perishable food and give a big bag to each of the families.
This is how our day ended, and in conclusión it was a wonderful day.
I think that living in such a huge city like Lima, you never imagined that there are tiny places existing in some other place of the world. Wow, and this was only the beginning.

Un ministerio dirigido por suizos en el que ayudan a las personas de las comunidades nativas a entrenarse espiritualmente para ser líderes en sus propias comunidades y también para ser entrenados en labores que les permitan generar ingresos como carpintería, crianza de animales, tejer, etc.

El final del día se acercaba y con el las entregas finales. Llevamos comida no perecible a las familias y les repartimos una bolsa grande a cada una. Así terminó nuestro primer día, que en conclusión fue maravilloso. Creo que viviendo en una gran ciudad como Lima nunca te imaginas que puedan existir lugares tan pequeños y remotos en otra parte del mundo. Wow, y esto fue sólo el comienzo.

We arrived to FAIENAP's camp and a typical breakfast and comfortable little houses were waiting for us in order to rest for an hour.

It's a ministry led by swiss in which they help native communities to train spiritually to be the leaders in their own communities and also to be trained in different activities to generate income like carpentry, raise animals, weaving, etc. (See pictures above Foto 5 y 6).
Second Stop: Mastanawas community We arrived to this community located in the middle of a garbage dump. The strong smell of trash could already tell us something about the conditions in which these families lived. (See picture above Foto 7)

The kids were smiling, some would speak to you in Spanish and others could understand you but would only speak in their native language. But how wonderful to see that our God was making able for the local church to have contact with this community and take food, love and the Word of God to them. While i was capturing memories with my lens, on of the girls got close to me to play and laugh together. She was so cute!! (see picture above Foto 10). Her name is Luz, her dad was the community's chief and she likes candy.
